Our foundation’s logo was inspired by an instance when Executive Director L Free was working with her youngest child. After painting pictures together, L took her daughter’s paint-splattered hand and placed it on a sheet of paper to create her signature. One of the first things done when we are born is to have our hand and foot prints taken. It is a unique way to identify oneself. When she removed her daughter’s hand from the page, they both noticed an extra finger within the imprint.
It was the perfect symbol of the two working together.
The SixFinger Foundation aims to be extra support for communities and families seeking it. There is an old saying that it takes a village. We want to acknowledge each person who has a hand in helping us create meaningful impact.
